Welcome To The March/April Issue
Radiation therapy is one of the traditional forms of therapy to treat various types of tumors. Also called radiotherapy, this treatment uses high doses of radiation to kill cancer cells and stop them from spreading.
This issue describes some basics of radiation therapy and types of radiation treatment, with special emphasis on the new Trilogy System™, now operational at Moffitt Cancer Center.
Sincerely,
The Moffitt Cancer Center Team

Moffitt Patient/Family Testimonial
John Freeman, pancreatic cancer survivor, says at first he experienced no symptoms – just a little non-specific middle back pain. But soon after, he received the diagnosis of stage IV metastatic pancreatic cancer and was told he had from six to 18 months to live.
“I didn’t like this diagnosis, and neither I nor my family was going to buy it,” Freeman said. He turned to Moffitt for help. He calls the attitude of the Moffitt staff positive. “With this level of human engagement and real caring, there is no way that we cannot be successful.”
